Holidays in the Caravan – Summer 2014

Dora’s first caravan trip – bit of a squeeze at times with three dogs in a small caravan but we got it sorted, and bought a good sized pen for outside, although Dora was the only one who could vault over the top of it and escape!

Bilbo is a Champion!

Bilbo got his third Challenge Certificate under Anne Arch at City of Birmingham Champ Show on 30 August 2014 and becomes a Champion – we always believed in him and were over the moon – our first ever show dog and he gets this far with us novices, so it just goes to prove that anyone with faith can do it!

To top it all, Pickle got the Reserve CC and Dora came 2nd in PB.

Dora goes Best of Breed at Bournemouth Champ Show 2014

Thrilled with Dora who went Best of Breed and Best Puppy at the Bournemouth Champ Show today, 10.8.2014, with Uncle Bilbo getting the Reserve Best Dog.  Poor little soul was exhausted by the end of a long hot day and was flagging by the time she had to be rushed from one Group to another, spending most of the time lying down and refusing to get up!  Hey ho, that’s our Dora!

We had the wonderful photo taken above by Alan Walker at the show.

Dorset County Open Show

Great day at the show in Dorset County Open Show in Dorchester on 27 July 2014 with Bilbo beating a range of fluffies to go Best of Breed AVNSC Pastoral  and then topped it by getting G2 under judge Mr J Thomas!  Very proud of our boy.

Christchurch & New Forest Open Show – 18 May 2014

Had a lovely day in the sunshine at the C&NF Open Show, Canford Magna with Heeler friends and picnic!  Bilbo got Reserve Best of Breed despite prancing about all over the spiky long grass, and Spot came along to see what showing is all about and enjoyed meeting other Heelers.  Our friend Jean did a great job in the Brace Stakes and won with Jazz & Toto.  Lovely day, wonderful dogs and great company!

Dora’s First Rosette!

10 May 2014 – Dora completed her first Good Citizens Puppy Course with Paws in Hand and was presented with a rosette which she decided was exceedingly tasty!

The last session we were asked to get our puppies to sit and wait for at least 10 seconds but Dora was the exception and we were asked to try and sit still for 1-2 seconds!  She has made her mark!!  Roll on Good Citizens Bronze …

Lancashire Heeler Club Open Show

Had a lovely weekend, flying the Heeler flag at South West Working & Pastoral Breed Association Open Show in Weston-super-Mare with Bilbo where he was Best of Breed, then travelling on to Bristol to spend the night with Lynn & Charlie, Mouse, Ouzo and Boris (previously known as Flash Harry!).  Boris remembered us and was so pleased to play with Bilbo and jump all over me, whilst Mouse was rather upset that I hadn’t brought Pickle along instead of Bilbo!

We went up to Shenstone on the Sunday 4 May 2014 to go to the Lancashire Heeler Club Show and I was so proud of Bilbo who was judged Best Dog, Reserve Best in Show and Best Opposite Sex – so we had to take this photo of a Smiling Bilbo with his winning haul when we got home!

Discover Dogs & Eye Tests!

A bit late, but Bilbo had a fantastic day up at Earls Court doing his stint in the Lancashire Heeler booth at Discover Dogs last Saturday, along with Nellie and Basil!  With just three dogs on duty and a continuous stream of people coming over to pet, hug, photograph and generally chat about Heelers, they did ever so well to keep going all day, and then the traffic was horrendous leaving Earls Court – so a very long day for all of us.  What was so nice to see was several families coming back at the end of the day to see their favourite breed one more time before leaving!

Then on Wednesday off to have eye tests and both Bilbo and Pickle passed with flying colours.  Pickle is a clear for PLL while Bilbo is a carrier so we make sure to have regular eye tests just to be on the safe side.
