2022 – What a year for MadinCrowd!

Having been very forgetful to update our website this year, we are doing a brief round-up of what our beautiful, talented dogs have achieved in 2022! SHOWING It was fun to get back to showing once again and Dora gained her third Challenge Certificate at South Wales KC in Veteran to make her a Champion – its been a long time coming but we can’t complain as she was often pipped at the post by […]

Discover Dogs, Crufts 2019

Once again we helped out on the Discover Dogs stand at Crufts 2019 on Thursday and Friday.  It was extremely busy both days and lots of interested people to talk to.  We were even interviewed by a group of French students who were doing a school project on Dog Breeders, their English was very good as my French is virtually non-existent but their list of questions was two pages long! It was fun that we […]

Dora’s Crufts Trophy

For the past year we have been looking after a fourth Heeler though unfortunately we shall have to say farewell to her this week; Dora’s Crufts Trophy for Lancashire Heeler Best Bitch will be returning to Crufts to be passed on to the next winner of the title.   Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW, won the beautiful wooden trophy which was presented last year by Foxthyme in memory of Jackie Cartledge, who we all sadly miss, […]

Discover Dogs – Crufts 2018

A busy time on the Lancashire Heeler stand at Discover Dogs at Crufts this year.   Lots of interest in our vulnerable native breed as well as all the other wonderful breeds in the halls.  I think we all lost our voices after spending a day on the stand talking Heelers. The dogs all behaved impeccably and certainly were the star attractions!

Dora is Best Bitch at Crufts 2018

On Thursday 8 March 2018 we got up at 3am to drive up the NEC, Birmingham for Crufts.  We took all three dogs as we were on the Discover Dogs stand all day but had entered Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW,  into the Open Bitch Class which it turned out had the largest entry of 14 Heelers on the day. With strong competition, we made the cut and then Dora was placed first – an amazing […]

Crufts & Discover Dogs 2016

We did our stint helping out at Discover Dogs, which was extremely busy and full on, so much so that Stephen lost his voice by Saturday!  All the dogs did a sterling job of being petted, admired and photographed and Dora and I were asked to take part in a Ringcraft demonstration in one of the rings alongside – and she behaved impeccably for once! The following day we did our showing under judge Val […]

Junior Warrant Semi-Finals, London

Dora is the first Lancashire Heeler to get to the semi finals of the Junior Warrant competition! We travelled up to London to the Junior Warrant Semi Final Competition which was held at Discover Dogs, ExCel Centre London on Saturday 17 October 2015.  James drove us and also took a video of the competition – unfortunately we did not get through to the final 10 out of 64 finalists but were thrilled to be there […]

Bilbo goes Speed Dating at the Kennel Club!

Having recently had puppies and being Assured Breeders, the Kennel Club invited our Heelers to a Speed Dating event on 18 September 2015 where members of the public and press were introduced to several different breeds of dogs to match them up! As our puppies had recently gone to their new homes and Dora was in season, it was down to Bilbo and me to travel by train up to London, then across town by […]

Dora is Junior Warrant Qualifier and BOB at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show

19.8.2015:  A very wet and cold day at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Open Show but Dora was Best of Breed in the AVNSC Pastoral and then won Group 4 under judge Lynne Scott.  After waiting until the bitter end for the Junior Warrant Qualifier Competition, Dora was one of the five picked to go forward to the Semi Finals at Discover Dogs in London – the first Heeler to have done so we believe!  Our grateful thanks to Lynne […]

Discover Dogs & Eye Tests!

A bit late, but Bilbo had a fantastic day up at Earls Court doing his stint in the Lancashire Heeler booth at Discover Dogs last Saturday, along with Nellie and Basil!  With just three dogs on duty and a continuous stream of people coming over to pet, hug, photograph and generally chat about Heelers, they did ever so well to keep going all day, and then the traffic was horrendous leaving Earls Court – so […]
