Crufts & Discover Dogs 2016

We did our stint helping out at Discover Dogs, which was extremely busy and full on, so much so that Stephen lost his voice by Saturday!  All the dogs did a sterling job of being petted, admired and photographed and Dora and I were asked to take part in a Ringcraft demonstration in one of the rings alongside – and she behaved impeccably for once!

The following day we did our showing under judge Val Fosse.  Bilbo got VHC and Dora was 4th in PGB and 3rd in GCB.  It was a real family affair as brothers Boris and Spot, along with Dad Mouse, all joined us there and showed their socks off!  A very proud moment for MadinCrowd.

The Kennel Club later sent an email with news about the event and as I clicked on the photos there was one of Dora (looking a bit shell shocked) standing on the table in the Discover Dogs booth!  Click on Dora’s photo to view.

Spot does LKA 2015

Little brother Spot joined us at LKA on 12 December 2015 and did amazingly well to qualify for Crufts and also gained his Good Citizens Bronze Award – Well Done Spot, you are such a cutie!

Junior Warrant Semi-Finals, London

Dora is the first Lancashire Heeler to get to the semi finals of the Junior Warrant competition!

We travelled up to London to the Junior Warrant Semi Final Competition which was held at Discover Dogs, ExCel Centre London on Saturday 17 October 2015.  James drove us and also took a video of the competition – unfortunately we did not get through to the final 10 out of 64 finalists but were thrilled to be there and to represent our breed.

Bilbo goes Speed Dating at the Kennel Club!

Having recently had puppies and being Assured Breeders, the Kennel Club invited our Heelers to a Speed Dating event on 18 September 2015 where members of the public and press were introduced to several different breeds of dogs to match them up!

As our puppies had recently gone to their new homes and Dora was in season, it was down to Bilbo and me to travel by train up to London, then across town by taxi – a first for Bilbo who took it all in his stride.

We had a lovely day meeting lots of people, having photos taken, and all in all it was an interesting event and was good publicity for the Discover Dogs event later on in  October.

Dora is Junior Warrant Qualifier and BOB at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show

19.8.2015:  A very wet and cold day at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Open Show but Dora was Best of Breed in the AVNSC Pastoral and then won Group 4 under judge Lynne Scott.  After waiting until the bitter end for the Junior Warrant Qualifier Competition, Dora was one of the five picked to go forward to the Semi Finals at Discover Dogs in London – the first Heeler to have done so we believe!  Our grateful thanks to Lynne Scott for thinking so highly of our little girl.

New arrivals born 11.7.2015

Our second litter was born on 11 July 2015 – two boys and a girl, all beautiful and healthy.  They were well socialised with lots of visitors and tea parties, it is surprising how popular you become when puppies are around!

They have all gone to lovely pet homes in the UK.  The two boys are the only dogs in the family whilst Lizzie has the company of Susie, and older Heeler, who she loves to bits though can be a bit bossy!

Sid, who now lives in Swanage, Dorset, writes his own hilarious blog El Sid.

Lancashire Heeler Association Open Show – 19.4.2015

Boris and Dora May 2015
Boris & Dora – the dynamic duo!!

Wow, Dora and Boris did a double act and took the top places at the Lancashire Heeler Association Show on 19 April 2015 under judge Ms Toni Jackson.  Dora narrowly beat her brother to Best of Breed, and Boris was Reserve Best of Breed.  A great day out although a long drive – but certainly worth it in the end!
