Pregnant Pickle keeping fit doing channel weaves!

Pickle may be pregnant but she still wants to join in with weave practice each morning but unfortunately agility is not advisable in her state.  However, by widening the channel weaves she has plenty of room to run through and get to her clam filled with sausage and its win win since she has fun, she is moving, keeping fit and is eating!  Not sure how long she will want to continue as she has expanded so much and all being well is due to whelp this week.

Apologies for my useless videoing technique:

Lancashire Heeler Puppies

Mouse (Foxthyme Maori) and Pickle (Ch Rosepip Neteret Eset) are very pleased to announce that they are expecting puppies, due in the first week of December.  Pickle has been scanned and 3-4 puppies seen.  Watch this space!

Five Generation Pedigrees of both dogs can be found here:   Foxthyme Maori / Ch Rosepip Neteret Eset

Pickle is now 7 so this will be her third and last litter.  She is being very picky at the moment and will only eat chipolata sausages and greek yoghurt – not the best diet but I have discovered she will deign to eat the better quality sausages at a push, as long as she is handfed!

Corgi Wedding Cake Toppers

Wedding Cake fun!

Well our son James and Becky got married in September and I offered to make the cake – little knowing what I was letting myself in for!  However with help and advice from Heeler friends – and Dora of course who managed to lick the odd rose – we got there, complete with Corgi cake toppers made by Lynn.

We even found a use for the Cricut machine and made Place Names for everyone, doggy themed wedding all round 🙂

Pickle – Madincrowd’s latest Champion!

Pickle becomes a Champion

Pickle or Rosepip Neteret Eset, entered as a Veteran, and won the Bitch Champion Certificate at South Wales Kennel Association Champ Show on 8 October 2017 under judge Maggy Jones.  It was her third Champion Certificate, the other two she won under judge Roy Baker at Richmond in 2011 and Sue Pollock-Yule at Darlington in 2012.  This now makes her a Champion and goes to show you never know whats round the corner, just believe in your dog and have fun!

She was beaten to Best of Breed by her son Boris, Ch Madincrowd Gabriel JW, so it was an amazing day out for the Madincrowd family once again.

Wiltshire Game Fair – September 2017

We attended the Wiltshire Game Fair again which takes place in the beautiful grounds of Bowood House, Calne.  We have our own marquee within The World of Dogs area and enjoy meeting members of the public and chatting about Heelers all weekend!  We love to have other Heeler owners or dog lovers coming to help us and can offer unlimited teas and coffees, biscuits, cake, etc plus free entry and parking to the event.  It was a family event this September with a reunion of Pickle & Mouse’s first litter all doing their bit for the breed!

Lynn and Charlie who own Mouse and son Boris joined us in their caravan and Sandra brought Spot along for the day.  Lynn had embroidered a bandana for each dog and also amazing gilets for us with the dogs embroidered on the back – she is happy to take orders!

Lancashire Heelers playing football on the beach

Lancashire Heelers are excellent at playing football!

In June we drove up to Northumberland and hired a holiday cottage this year rather than hauling the caravan all the way!  We can thoroughly recommend Annstead Farm as a dog friendly place to stay and this wonderful beach is just across the road:

Border Union Championship Dog Show – June 2017

On an extremely hot, sunny day we went to the Border Union Championship Dog Show at Kelso where we showed the dogs under judge Keith Baldwin.  We were thrilled to bits when Bilbo (Ch Rosepip Beau Brummell ShCM) won the Dog Challenge Certificate from the Veteran Dog class,  Dora (Madincrowd Bathsheba JW) got the Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate from Limit Bitch and Pickle (Rosepip Neteret Eset) was 2nd in Open Bitch.   The judge was very informative and when chatting to me about Dora afterwards and asking about her breeding, we realised he had given brother Boris (Ch Madincrowd Gabriel JW) his very first CC at South Wales Champ Show in 2015!  Obviously has good taste 🙂

Dora does Bournemouth!

Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW, was Best of Breed at the Bournemouth Champ Show in August 2016, under judge Celia Vines.

There was a good turn out and a party atmosphere round the ring – with some of us coming back to Pear Tree Cottage for a cream tea!

Boris becomes a Champion – September 2016

We are so proud to announce that Boris, Madincrowd Gabriel JW (aka Flash Harry in his younger days!) became the first Madincrowd Champion – subject to Kennel Club confirmation.

Boris won his first Challenge Certificate under Keith Baldwin at South Wales Kennel Club Champ Show in 2015, then his second and third in quick succession in 2016 under Albert Wight at Welsh Kennel Club and David Cavill at Richmond – Boris was Best of Breed in all three wins as well.

Our thanks to all the judges who thought so highly of him and especially to Lynn for showing him so beautifully!

Bowood Dog Show 18 & 19 June 2016

After reading a letter in one of the Dog papers it sparked an interest in trying to get a stand to promote our breed at the Living Heritage Country Fairs.  We were offered a stand at the Bowood Dog Show in Wiltshire so we sorted out some banners and our friend Jean sewed an amazing Heeler bunting to decorate the marquee with.

We had a very enjoyable and busy weekend chatting about Heelers to everyone and also taking part in the Native Breeds Parade in the main ring.  We hope to do more of these and it is lovely to have company so if anyone with an interest in Heelers would like to join us in the future, please get in touch!
