We are thrilled to announce that Katy, Madincrowd Mercy Chant, won her third Challenge Certificate on 17 June 2021 at National Working & Pastoral Breeds Championship Show and, subject to Kennel Club approval, this win will make her a Champion. Many congratulations to Lynne with Boris (Ch Madincrowd Gabriel JW) and Katy (Madincrowd Mercy Chant) for their brilliant results at the Welsh Kennel Club on 17 August 2019! Boris won the Dog Challenge Certificate and went on to become Best of Breed, whilst Katy won the Bitch Reserve Challenge Certificate.
For the past year we have been looking after a fourth Heeler though unfortunately we shall have to say farewell to her this week; Dora’s Crufts Trophy for Lancashire Heeler Best Bitch will be returning to Crufts to be passed on to the next winner of the title. Pickle becomes a Champion Pickle or Rosepip Neteret Eset, entered as a Veteran, and won the Bitch Champion Certificate at South Wales Kennel Association Champ Show on 8 October 2017 under judge Maggy Jones. It was her third Champion Certificate, the other two she won under judge Roy Baker at Richmond in 2011 and Sue Pollock-Yule at Darlington in 2012. On an extremely hot, sunny day we went to the Border Union Championship Dog Show at Kelso where we showed the dogs under judge Keith Baldwin. We were thrilled to bits when Bilbo (Ch Rosepip Beau Brummell ShCM) won the Dog Challenge Certificate from the Veteran Dog class, Dora (Madincrowd Bathsheba JW) got the Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate from Limit Bitch and Pickle (Rosepip Neteret Eset) was 2nd in Open Bitch. Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW, was Best of Breed at the Bournemouth Champ Show in August 2016, under judge Celia Vines. There was a good turn out and a party atmosphere round the ring – with some of us coming back to Pear Tree Cottage for a cream tea!
After reading a letter in one of the Dog papers it sparked an interest in trying to get a stand to promote our breed at the Living Heritage Country Fairs. We were offered a stand at the Bowood Dog Show in Wiltshire so we sorted out some banners and our friend Jean sewed an amazing Heeler bunting to decorate the marquee with. Another great day at the LHA Show with judge Maggie Bryant who awarded Bilbo Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show, so proud of him. He had previously done well under her at Portsmouth & Southsea earlier in the year and also got G4 under Sally Pointon.
Great day for the MadinCrowd family – Dora was Best Bitch at the Champ Show, though unfortunately no CCs for Heelers, and Dad Mouse was Best of Breed.
