Boris winning photo

Well Done Boris!

Boris, Madincrowd Gabriel, has done it again!  He was Best of Breed at the National Working & Pastoral Breed Championship Show which took place at Malvern on Saturday 13 July 2019. By winning at this show, Boris has qualified to represent Lancashire Heelers in the Vulnerable Native Breeds Competition  which takes place at Crufts 2020. We are all so proud of him and thank you to Lynn for showing him so beautifully – we will […]

Discover Dogs, Crufts 2019

Once again we helped out on the Discover Dogs stand at Crufts 2019 on Thursday and Friday.  It was extremely busy both days and lots of interested people to talk to.  We were even interviewed by a group of French students who were doing a school project on Dog Breeders, their English was very good as my French is virtually non-existent but their list of questions was two pages long! It was fun that we […]

Dora’s Crufts Trophy

For the past year we have been looking after a fourth Heeler though unfortunately we shall have to say farewell to her this week; Dora’s Crufts Trophy for Lancashire Heeler Best Bitch will be returning to Crufts to be passed on to the next winner of the title.   Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW, won the beautiful wooden trophy which was presented last year by Foxthyme in memory of Jackie Cartledge, who we all sadly miss, […]

Discover Dogs – Crufts 2018

A busy time on the Lancashire Heeler stand at Discover Dogs at Crufts this year.   Lots of interest in our vulnerable native breed as well as all the other wonderful breeds in the halls.  I think we all lost our voices after spending a day on the stand talking Heelers. The dogs all behaved impeccably and certainly were the star attractions!

Dora is Best Bitch at Crufts 2018

On Thursday 8 March 2018 we got up at 3am to drive up the NEC, Birmingham for Crufts.  We took all three dogs as we were on the Discover Dogs stand all day but had entered Dora, Madincrowd Bathsheba JW,  into the Open Bitch Class which it turned out had the largest entry of 14 Heelers on the day. With strong competition, we made the cut and then Dora was placed first – an amazing […]

Crufts & Discover Dogs 2016

We did our stint helping out at Discover Dogs, which was extremely busy and full on, so much so that Stephen lost his voice by Saturday!  All the dogs did a sterling job of being petted, admired and photographed and Dora and I were asked to take part in a Ringcraft demonstration in one of the rings alongside – and she behaved impeccably for once! The following day we did our showing under judge Val […]
